A Ministry of Hope and Healing to the Hurting

Clothing Ministry

Can you remember the smile on your child’s face as you visited the local mall and took advantage of the tax-free shopping day?  According to the National Retail Federation, parents spent an average of $606 on back-to-school clothes and supplies.  However, there are many families who are living paycheck to check, and do not have the luxury of spending that much money on one child; let alone two or more children.  Heart of Hope (HOH) is proud to offer a way to help alleviate the cost and help many families within the QC area.

The clothing ministry at HOH is maintained by Office Coordinator, Fred Victor.  At the office, he carefully sorts and folds the clothing with the love of God, knowing that when the people arrive, the items can be accessed easily.  His joy comes from seeing the smiles on the face of the individuals blessed with gently used, or sometimes new, clothing items.

Several of the African young men who live in the neighborhood close to our building, came to the clothing ministry and were excited to select pants, shorts, and shirts as they prepared for their first day “back to school.” They left with several outfits and sent other family members back to go “shopping”.  These young men had attended our Vacation Bible School in July and now visit us almost daily for an after-school treat. They are quick to respond to questions given them on “Who Jesus is!” One calls out … “He’s the Son of God”… another says “He died for our sins!” During a recent Baby Shower at our building, they came in to inquire about the decorations and wanted to know what time the Baby Shower would begin…so they could attend!

Thank you Fred for being a faithful and giving servant, but most of all for living what God has ordained us to do: be a light to those who are in the dark and show the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Please contact us to donate!
