What Your Dollars Provide

$3.25 can provide one person food for a week.

$35 can provide 10 people food for a week.

$450 can provide enough food to run our entire pantry for the week. This feeds 135 people and also provides toiletry items.

$6 can provide emergency care for an entire month, including housing, utilities, medicine and other basic needs.

$70 can provide these same services for an entire year.

Our Costs

In 2018, Heart of Hope Outreach will spend $10,000 in Charitable giving from individual donations, and an additional $9,000 in purchasing food items for our Food Pantry.

Another $7000 will be spent on Youth Programs.

The Charitable Assistance totals $20,000 and goes directly to families in need within our community. This money comes from individuals who believe in our vision of providing hope to those in need. With an extended hand we help pull the community up and work on keeping people standing once up.

Some of Our Accomplishments

As of September 2018, we have served 6,171 individuals who walked through our doors to use our Food Pantry since opening on May 1, 2014!

These individuals represented 25,811 family members.

Over 60,000 pounds of food is distributed annually to families in need through the Heart of Hope Outreach Food Pantry! (Specialty items our pantry is know for include  pizzas from Little Caesars; bread and pastries from Hy-vee Stores; frozen meats such as ribs, hams, chicken, fish, steaks, along with family favorites of hamburger and hot dogs; and lots of great fresh produce!)

Approximately 70 families use our Clothing Ministry monthly, receiving seasonal clothing items for men, women, and children. Toiletry items such as toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, personal hygiene items, and laundry detergent are distributed at our Toiletry Station.

During the summer of 2018, neighborhood youth enjoyed recreational outings that included a River Bandits Baseball game, a fishing trip, and an afternoon on the Channel Cat Riverboat. Previous educational outings have included trips to Niabi Zoo, the Putnam Museum, and a sight-seeing tour on the Celebration Belle Riverboat.

An average of 15 families per month are assisted with applications to Supplemental Emergency Assistance Program (SEAP). This program assists adults in need of rental assistance, utilities, transportation, and medical needs. We have helped keep families in their homes, utilities on, transportation and medical needs met.
